Chapter 4 - Variety Is the Spice of Teaching!
We all know the importance of teaching to a variety of learning styles. And, chapter four reminds us of this. Visual learners comprise 60% of us, kinesthetic 25% and only 15% of us prefer auditory learning. According to Dr. Norris "your role as a teacher is to find as many ways as possible for your learners to show you how smart they are" (p. 32). So, in order to do this it is important to teach to a variety of learning styles, not only in the way we most prefer. This takes creativity and I'm the first to admit I am not very creative, so I appreciated this reminder: "you can find a wealth of material . . . from which you can garner all kinds of ideas. Thats your job" (p. 34)!

I love the quote you posted about finding as many ways possible for our learners to show us how smart they are! What a great way to look at it! Very student-centered.
